ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Fixtures

The ICC cricket world cup is the international championship of One Day International Cricket. Cricket World Cup organized by the international cricket council, the tournament has taken place every four years since it was first held in 1975 in England. Most recently the 2011 Cricket world cup jointly hosted by Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka in 2011. The tournament is one of the world’s most viewed sporting events, ranked behind only the FIFA World Cup and the Summer Olympics.

However, a separate Women’s Cricket World Cup had been held two years before the first men’s tournament and a tournament involving multiple international teams had been held as early as 1912, when a triangular tournament of Test Matches was played between England, Australia and South Africa.The inaugural cricket world cup was hosted in 1975 by England.

The 1975 tournament started on 7 June. The first three events were held in England and officially known as the Prudential Cup. The match consisted of 60 overs per team. Eight team participated in the first tournament England, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, West Indies and a composite team from East Africa. In 2011 tha last tournament was jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Pakistan were stripped of their hosting rights following the terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka Cricket team. Fourteen teams participated, split two pools of seven teams each. This is first time in World Cup history that two Asian teams appeared in final. A total 19 team have competed in the ten editions of the tournament, with 14 competing in the 2011 tournament. Australia has won the tournament a record four times.

In ICC Cricket world Cup 2015 total 14 teams are participating, they are divided into two Pools, Pool A and Pool B. In Pool A England, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, New Zealand and two other Qualifier teams. In Pool B South Africa, India, Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe and reaming two teams will be qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
